Hi everyone,
I'm new on here and looking to build my first theremin. Thought I'd give the 145 theremin a go, but Art Harrison's website seems to have been down a few weeks now. Does anyone know what's happened? I hope everything is OK with him.
Thanks,
Laurie

Welcome, Laurie! It’s a pleasure to have you here on the forum.

Harrison Instruments Inc. was a U.S.-based manufacturer primarily known for producing electronic musical instruments, especially theremins.
On its official website, the company published a “NOTICE” stating that it was:
- Closing its doors
- Ceasing manufacturing operations
- Continuing to provide service and warranty support
- Offering remaining inventory for sale through eBay (all remained products seem to be sold until now)

The first appearance of this NOTICE is dated May 8, 2023 in the archive.org
The last time theremin.us was captured there was January 15 this year

What special instrumental skills are you looking for?

Hi JPascal!
Thanks for your message - that's really useful information!
It was actually circuit diagrams, component lists, tips on building the 145 Theremin I was looking for. I remember there was a load of information on the theremin.us about the 144, so I was hoping for the same for the 145. I did that modern thing and assumed the website would be there forwever so didn't download anything, and now I just have a circuit diagram I found on the internet to go on. It's enough I guess, but the circuit layouts and information was really useful, and now it's all gone!
I might have a look on archive.org to see if I can retrieve anything from there, so thanks for reminding me about the existence of that website!
I hope all good in Berlin, I hope to visit again one day. In the meantime herzlich grussen from London!

Laurie, here's a site with schematic and some (truncated) discussion:

You might want to contact Evan Kahn, he made a miniaturized version of the 145:

Evan's a friend and a really great guy!

[EDIT] I snagged all of the relevant 145 info from Art's site and stuck it in a PDF.  PM me if interested (I hesitate to just post any of Art's work).
