I've been quite absent for the past decade, but I'm still lurking from time to time to see what's happening in the world of theremins. I can't believe this site has been going (in various forms) for just over 30 years!

As many of you know, the code this site is built on no longer compiles and the only copy lives on an 11 year old Macbook Pro running an unsupported version of Windows in Bootcamp. That said, I'm pretty proud the website is still going strong and performing decently even with posts that have 3500+ replies!

I want to thank those of you who are helping support Theremin World by clicking through our affiliate links when you make purchases. Those small commissions pay for our annual web hosting, the occasional emergency "extra bandwidth" when we have extra visitors some months, and domain upkeep. You can also support the site on Patreon at https://patreon.com/thereminworld, although there is no actual direct benefit back to you. If I can ever get the code to compile again, perhaps I can hide ads for Patreon supporters or something. I want to thank our current Patreon supporters from the bottom of my heart for their continued support of the site!

On a random note, I was looking around Reverb.com the other day and was shocked to see how expensive used Etherwave Standard theremins have become!

"Okay, listen up, everybody! Big news! Tremendous news! We have this incredible website, thereminword.com. You know it. The best website. The most amazing website for the theremin. Nobody knows more about the theremin than the people on thereminword.com. Nobody!

And it’s been going for THIRTY YEARS! Thirty years! Can you believe it? That’s longer than some of my best deals, and my deals are the best! This forum, this website, it’s been around for a long, long time. And it’s still going strong! Fantastic!

We have all these schematics, all these amazing designs for the theremin. People build them, they make them better. Nobody builds better theremins than the people who learn on thereminword.com. Believe me.

And the playing! The techniques! You want to play the theremin like a true master? You go to thereminword.com. You learn from the best. You hear the best. It’s unbelievable. Theory, announcements… everything you need. It’s all there.

And who’s behind all this? Who’s been running this incredible operation for three decades? It’s Jason! That’s right, Jason! He’s the man. He’s the guy. He’s kept this thing alive and kicking. We need more people like Jason. Tremendous people. People who get things done. He’s a winner. A real winner.
So, if you’re interested in the theremin, and believe me, you SHOULD be interested, it’s a beautiful instrument, a beautiful sound… you need to be on thereminword.com. You need to join the discussion. You need to learn from the best. You need to support Jason and his incredible legacy."

Kudos and deep thanks to you Jason for keeping it going!  Your web site is Bariliant!

Supply & demand I guess.  Incredible Theremins can be made these days for not a lot of scratch, but there's evidently not enough scratch in it to motivate anyone to the point of manufacture - which is good and bad.  It was clearly a labor of love for Bob Moog.

I agree with ILYA. It feels like all of societies meaningful knowledge on the theremin is concentrated on this website.

Good work Jason, Its pretty impressive you could make a website this complicated in the first place. You truly do to the theremin community. I hope this website enjoys another 30 years but no matter how long it lasts, I am proud to be a part of this legacy.

Thanks all. I really appreciate you all and the kind words. I'm glad the site is still a useful resource and functional gathering place!

I have been a TW patreon since december 2023.
I just had a look at the Patreon site to discover that we are only 3 patreons !
I think Jason deserves to be supported by many more members of TW for his impressive work.
