2 75 minute sessions, morning and afternoon.

The theremin, what it is. Theremin who he is.  Brief history.

Demonstration - how the Etherwave works and is played, how the Model 302 works and is played.

Musical technique - notes, sweeps, scales, intervals, melodies and gestures.

Effect pedals . . .

Demonstration of these techniques on the Model 302.

Hands on theremin time - one Etherwave, three Model 302s. Once four people get familiar, a short group performance - repeat until everyone who wants to try it, has a chance.

If anyone has an Etherwave they would like to add to the cacophony, let me know.

I have 8 channels on the R16 - 4 probably is more than enough.

I will hand out a sheet of theremin cliches to guide the novices. "Just make your hand do what the line does"

If anyone locally is interested, let me know.

I adopted a Afghanistan soldier and his family a few years ago. Met them only once here in Temecula and looked after them ever since.

They are in Gaithersburg MA which must not be far from you so I should encourage them to visit your event.

You did not mention a Time?

Sadly, I can't make it during the daytime.  Otherwise I'd love to stop by.

The event has been postponed until June due to the world wide panic over a cousin of the common cold.

"According to experts at John Hopkins University in the US, roughly one billion people catch the winter flu every year. It is estimated that between 290,000 and 650,000 of those who get the illness die"

But it is hard to cause a panic with the word "flu." Social engineering, hard marketing of product, and an opportunity to buy stocks for cheap all from those good folks who like to stress, terrorize and con us . . .  news readers.

Keep in mind that we thereminists play the absolutely most sanitary musical instrument ever devised.

You cannot touch that!

Rupert, the Corona virus isn't just a conspiracy theory to dupe the masses for fun and profit.  You might want to turn off Fox News for a while.

For seasonal flu at least there is a seasonal vaccination, and the flu generally kills at a much lower rate (650,000 / 1,000,000,000 = 0.065%, Covid is probably 50x this, and the death "experience" itself is usually quite horrible).  I've got parents in their 80's, one with compromised lungs due to a past respiratory illness, so even if it spares me (and I'm no spring chicken) the implications of it all are weighing rather heavily on me.

Other than the deaths, the very real danger is overwhelming ICUs.  So if you're young but get in a car wreck or have appendicitis or something, good luck with that.  And if you need a ventilator for whatever reason you'll probably be SOL.  Isolating the population can slow the infection rate, which gives our limited medical facilities and personnel a better shot at properly treating those infected (as well as the rest of those not infected).  Flatten the curve:

Compared to other 1st world countries, the US is basically doing NO testing for the virus, which makes our current numbers look pretty rosy.  If you're looking for a conspiracy theory, maybe take a look there.

Sorry about the workshop cancellations. These things will happen more and more in the coming days and weeks I'm afraid. I would encourage everyone to get their advice on how to proceed from infectious disease and epidemiology experts. The situation is rapidly developing and much is still unknown.

When I was a child, I got terrorized by the prospect of total nuclear annihilation on a regular basis - "DUCK and COVER!!!"

The cousin of the common cold is not about to rile me up or stress me out or make me panic like a herd of beeves on "Rawhide."

By the way, Ebola killed all of us off years ago, that and every other "Boo!" the rulers give us to stress us out and keep us in line.

There is a sweet TV show called "Monk" - he is not a role model . . . or is he?

How many times do you hear them cry wolf before you get skeptical?

BTW - injecting foreign DNA and RNA into your body yields auto-immune disorders, which makes BILLIONS for the industry treating the collateral damages of vaccination. I know how you make safe vaccines, but that costs too much and doesn't yield profits. Grow it in a culture of your OWN CELLS . . . no problem so it is totally impractical and out of the question.

Bendra: Whenever I want to get advice on how to buy a used car, I always consult a used car salesman. As "Dr. House" so eloquently stated, your diagnosis, prognosis and outcome are determined by which doctor you choose and what their specialty is and has little to do with what is wrong with you. I heard that yesterday . . . how timely. I have to explain things to doctors because for some reason they just do not know much - like 4 out of 5 orthopedic doctors that kept me with an untreated broken arm for 350 days.

Very sorry about your arm, glad you finally got the care you needed. Yes, doctors can be hit-or-miss. I'm more inclined to lean on the expertise of those who professionally study epidemiology and infections disease transmission. Like this woman, who is a microbiologist specializing in public health: https://thespinoff.co.nz/author/siouxsie-wiles/ People like her don't have perfect knowledge either but they are a lot more likely to know what they are talking about than you or I
