My first post here....

I'm keen to dip my toe in the waters of the Theremin. I've a maximum budget of £200 for something playable... Moog Etherwave, Burns B3 Deluxe, possibly a Theremax. Must be fully functioning and ready to go.

Can anyone oblige? If not, I'll probably end up importing a B3 Deluxe from the manufacturer (unless anyone can supply one this side of the pond).

I'm in London UK and would prefer to try before I buy. Work often takes me away from the capital, so distance may not necessarily be a problem.

Thanks. Pete.

Hi Pete. Welcome to Theremin World.

You are unlikely to find an etherwave for £200, but if you would like to try one anyway and can come to Croxley Green (near Watford) on a weekday morning you are welcome to try mine.

Contact gordonc {at} theremin {dot} org {dot} uk to arrange a mutually convenient time.

Welcome b3pete,

You need to rework your Theremin World bio link to your website, it is defective.

Your website is very nice and GordonC is like finding treasure so early in your theremin journey. You look the right age to enter the TW pub, hope you are around a while.

A big thank you to Gordon, for having me round to demonstrate his Etherwave rig this morning. A fascinating and very useful visit. It makes me realize that there's A LOT to learn and consider. However, I'm up for a challenge and will be keeping an eye out for a suitable "starter" instrument.

If anyone hears of anything for sale, please let me know.

Cheers, Gordon!

Pete

This came on sale today. It is the moog etherwave theremin used by Ann Shenton when she was in the group Add N to (X).

Having used it a few years ago, I can confirm that it is in desperate need of expert loving care and attention before it will be a useable instrument again.

Hmmm... Seems to be just the outer case. An interesting object nevertheless.

Dang, yes. I didn't read it carefully enough. Silly me.
