Found an Ethervox - but have no manuals...

...the guy who sold it to me asked me - quite desparately - to give the Ethervox back to him...

...as I would always have had a bad feeling at the instrument in case I had insisted on sticking to the deal, I agreed and let him have it again...

In case you get offered an Ethervox in the near future: mine would have had serial number 12...

OK, Charlie, I'll admit it: the same thought crossed my mind.

Hmmm, looking at it from the opposite perspective: Why haven't pipe organ builders added a "Theremin" stop?

(A terrifying little [i]Gedankenexperiment[/i], really... I mean, how would they do it? Create a giant double-barreled slide-whistle, with the two tubes differing ever so slightly in length, to generate vibrato-simulating beats?)

If you can find one again, I'm sure Moog Music would be happy to provide a copy of the manual for you. It might not help much though... the Ethervox's operating system is tricky & complex to say the least.

I know where there will be a Theremin controlled pipe organ very soon if that helps?

Why not a theremin stop on organs? They have every other stop imaginable. I like the slide whistle idea. LOL.

It occurred to me the other day that the theremin has some similarities with the jazz whistle; but the theremin has a faster response and a far wider range. One would be hard pressed to make a ten-octave whistle on a pipe organ, methinks...
