moog etherwave -good instrument?

i'm thinking about buying a theremin. i just don't know if the moog etherwave theremin is a good instrument or not. i wouldn't want to buy an instrument with tuning problems (as far as I understand it is important that the distance between the pitches is equal on all levels).
so: would you advise me to buy this instrument or are there any better ones around for a similar price?
thanks a lot!

sorry, i dont' really understand your answer (i suppose that my question wasn't that clear either...)...
so: do you mean that there are better instruments for about the same price? and if yes: which ones?
and: what does your ps mean?
i'm confused ;-)

In that price range the moog etherwave is a fine instrument. The pitch linearity is good enough to make it playable.

I'm puzzled by Alex's PS too - perhaps it refers to one of these meanings - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASL - my guess is Age/Sex/Location - i.e. do tell us a little about yourself.

(The roll-call thread is here (http://www.thereminworld.com/forum.asp?cmd=p&T=947&F=1).) Welcome to Theremin World.

I meant yes, the Etherwave is dope.

ASL - wasn't a genuine request, I just figured I'd spice this place up with a little oldskool chatroom talk.

bariton,

The Etherwave is a fine instrument. The Standard is not as good as the Pro but the prices refelct that.

There are many professionals playing the Etherwave Standard.

Anybody out there wanna cyber?
