The metal strapping was tested between the baffle, and speaker, and there was metal/metal vibration. The strapping was removed once I was happy with the final position of the baffle. As Coalport noted, it looked like rubbish with it, and it was never intended to be there in the final version. I'll post a pic of the current progress state. It looks much better without the strapping. :)

Working on it. I've finally got hold of a good hole saw that didn't break the bank, and now there's a proper sound hole in the soundboard.
I've also added a small amount of brighter holo film round the sound hole to give the speaker a bit more visual presense in the center.
A few other details remain. :)

Progress update:
The steel strapping is gone from the front of the soundboard, and the sound hole has been cut, and speaker re-installed.
Frame has been added to soundboard. The frame is a nice copper and black frame which is narrow, and contemporary looking.
There is also a one inch boarder of slightly brighter holo film around the sound hole.
