Good morning. I have inherited an R.A.Moog Troubador theremin. It is missing the antenna. Can anyone tell me where I can source a new antenna for this model?

Thank you in advance!

I would try to give the Moog company a phone call. It seems that they try at least to help.

If there will be no success at Moogs, you should take the diameter of the pitch rod support and try to find a fitting copper tube. Start with a length of about 60cm (24 inches) and verify that you can go up enough in pitch. If pitch seems to be limited in the higher tones, shorten the rod inch by inch, verifying that the playing range towards the low tones doesn't get too limited which will be the case if the rod is too short.

Take your time and make use of the pitch adjust knob in order to learn about this intrument's behaviour.

If you found the correct length, you may replace the copper tube by a more beautiful material (i.e. chromed copper tube) with the same dimensions.

I don't know the diameter of the antenna for the Moog, but one seemingly unlikely place you might try is an auto parts store.

I found a chrome dipstick tube that is about 18" long. It seems to work quite well as a theremin antenna.

There are also chrome-plated tubes for bathroom faucet lines at Lowes and Home Depot that you might look at, but I am not sure if you can those long enough or not.
