Mic stand Mount

Hey guys, I'm building a theremax, and using my own case for it. I want to mount it on a mic stand like the etherwave theremin is. I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get the little metal part that screw onto the mic stand and has holes on it so I can screw it to a piece of wood. Any ideas or tips would be great, thanks!

I just looked at the radio shack web site and they seem to have the male part, but I think what was desired is the female part.

I'd try Home Depot, in the plumbing section.

I'd be surprised if it were a normal pipe thread.

I'd try a music supply store.
Hey maybe Moog would sell it as a part, you can get plenty of other there-bits by themselves, but you have to contact someone there, I don't think they're listed on the site.

John is correct, the Atlas part is the one you want. I know because I've gone through the same ordeal.

Radio Shack only sells the male (stand) part. You need the mating female flange.

Pipe fittings from a hardware store will not work on a mic stand. Plumbing parts (in the USA) use a tapered (coarse) pipe thread. Mic stands are a straight 5/8"-27 (fine) mechanical thread.

Now....if you intend to build your own stand, then plumbing parts could be an option.

MM, radio Shack maybe doesn't list them on their website, but the "Shack by me has them. I saw them the other day and went back to double check.
Might be just a personal choice of the manager
