...since I have posted here. I just wanted to do a little shameless self promotion and post a link to a song I wrote and performed that features the Theremin.

http://profile.myspace.com/... (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=248750928)

Please stop by and check it out if you get a chance. It's sort of a slightly creepy love song.

On it I sing and play bass, drum machine, theremin, and Casio SK-1.

I recorded it about 2 years ago and finally got around to mixing it down tonight.

I am probably going to re-do the theremin part but I wanted to get it out there before I did. Sort of a way to chart my progress.

While you are there, check out "Cuddle Party" which features some haunting background theremin.

Diggs! Good to hear from you, and thanks for sharing the link. Which track is the new one?

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the original speaker of "I am not gay" could hear his words looped way, way, WAYYYYY past the boundary of "The laddie doth protest too much, methinks" ...

Brian R, in case you didn't see Omhoge's post, the new track is Euphoria, and yes, the laddie definitely protests too much, doesn't he?

Euphoria was actually written on guitar and I performed it for a few years solo.

When I recorded it I started with the bass and drums and never got around to adding the guitar at all!

Thanks for confirming that "Euphoria" is the new tune on the block (the lower play count suggested that, but I've been fooled before).

I see what you mean about the theremin track... parts of it are just fine (they seem to be in a higher range, with more vibrato), while the midrange bits (with less vibrato) stick out a bit, and especially in comparison to the pseudo-theremin synth in the second half of the tune. (Or is that also theremin?)

The synth is a Casio SK-1.

I was very unhappy with some of the theremin playing so I put the track away for quite a while.

I will probably redo the theremin part one of these days. My music isn't usually about perfection but I think I can do better.

There is another theremin song up on my MySpace page;

ThereminWorld (http://http://www.myspace.com/cumulusnoise)

It is called "Four Second Chances" and the theremin is use as a pad type of sound.

I have found myself using vibrato to keep in tune. It gives me a little wiggle-room when finding the desired note. This track features little to no vibrato but the theremin is not doing any great leaps, just long arching seeps in the background.

The song also featrues Yamaha CS-50, Roland TR-606, bass, Victrola, and ambient sounds from my neighborhood fourth of July celebration a couple of years ago.

Also, "Cuddle Part" has some theremin playing but it may not be too recognizable as such.

The sounds heard after the words "cuddle party" and "emotional intanmacy" is my Etherwave standard running through a little bit of distortion and some delay.

It's also the last sound heard on the song - kind of a descending note at the very end.

Let me know what you think.
