Greetings

I recently bought a brand new pre-owned Etherwave. The previous owner tried it for about an hour, drove his wife mad, determined he just wasn't "musical" and I got a great deal on what I thought might be an interesting toy. I've no musical training so I searched Theremin World and viewed all the popular DVD's (included in the deal).
My Etherwave has been playing me for a couple months. It's great mind/body exercise ! I am able to make almost legible riffs of jingles and melodic tunes acquired during a lifetime of listening to a variety of music and sounds.

But, I thought I could improve my repertoire by adding a used Digitech vx400. I plugged my instrument into the vx400 then into my speaker/amp. The effects were not as good as the sound without the vx400. I realize some tweaking and set-up needs to be done to get the sound I'm looking for and that's not the problem.
What's freaking me out is my speaker/amp (new too,came with kit) now has a constant buzz even when plugged directly into theremin, or not connected at all ! Really bums me out to think my ignorance injured or kilt my machine.
It was only yesterday that this happened and before I mess around with it anymore I thought I'd try you folks.
I really dig this site and have read most all the posts.

Check your cables first! Audio cables have a nasty habit of shielded cables breaking off at the connector end. That will cause a very nasty buzz.

I got rid of the used vx400. And the cheap cable. I feel better now. I dig the true sound of my Theremin without the effects pedal but I'll probably give it another go with NEW electronics after some research and a more clear idea of the sound I need to create.
