Robot Theremin Orchestra in Austin, TX?

I just saw this link for a show tonight in Austin, TX featuring "The Robot Theremin Orchestra"

Any Austinites going to check it out? Is it a fancy band name, or actual robots playing theremins?

This page (http://2006.sxsw.com/interactive/evening_events/) says that there will be [i]"robots and theremins (via The Robot Group)"[/i]. Hmmm...

...and this (http://www.robotgroup.net/) is their website, which says,

"The Robot Group was founded in the Spring of 1989 by a small group of Austin, TX artists and engineers who shared a common vision: utilizing technology to provide and explore new mediums for art."

And this page (http://www.robotgroup.net/index.cgi/LinuCon2005) demonstrates that they had both robots and a theremin at LinuCon 2005, but does not show robots playing theremins.

(Apparently they have had their dress-sense surgically removed!)

And they also have something called a therepings (http://www.robotgroup.net/index.cgi/FirstNight2005) which is "inspired by the theremin."

Double Hmm.

If we all listen closely we can probably hear Jason booking a flight to Texas online...

I know I would love to go.
